Fabulous At Fifty… Age Doesn’t Have To Be A Barrier To Success

I’ve just seen a woman on Instagram ask her 40,000+ followers to go to her new website and subscribe to her newsletter.

In the video where she told her followers about her new website, she said that it was a new chapter in her life and a new way to support her family.

The reason why I am telling you this is that the woman is a retired teacher who has just turned 50 and is embracing the idea of building up an online business that can pay her a passive income.

The website is called Not Needing New, and her niche is about living with what you have and not having to keep buying new products.

Basically, it sounds like a website about saving money and living frugally by buying pre-loved items and repairing what you have.

I don’t know much about what she will share on her website because it is so new, but what I like is the fact that she is building an online business based on a specific topic.

She has already built up quite a decent number of followers on Instagram by simply sharing pictures and videos.

Other than paying someone to build the website for her (I shall come to that shortly), growing her business to this point has cost her nothing.

She has built up a large audience for free using Instagram and she is now transferring that audience over to her website and email list.

It helped that she appeared in The Guardian, has been on a talk show on BBC Radio 4, and has also been a guest on Stacey Dooley’s popular podcast.

This would have put her in front of a lot of new people and helped to grow her following.

However… although she has appeared in the press and been on popular shows, she was only invited because of what she was sharing and publishing on Instagram beforehand.

Instagram has been instrumental for creating a lot of successful new careers and a whole lot more money from those new careers.

She says that it cost her £300 to have the website built, and that cost is for two years. She used the money that she was given to her for her 50th birthday by her father.

She sees it as an investment in herself, one which will get cheaper in two years time because the £300 spent includes the website build which is now complete.

£300 over two years comes to £2.88 a week, which is nothing compared to the £35 she used to spend each week on wine before she gave up alcohol.

£2.88 a week is such a small price… it works out at just under £0.42 per day!

She is going to make that money back in no time.

I foresee her making a lot of money from this website because her followers, who like and trust her, will want to buy from her.

I don’t know what products she will release but she could do paid-for challenges, publish eBooks and training courses.

She could also charge a subscription fee for an exclusive newsletter or charge one-off purchases for specific content similar to what we are doing HERE.

I’ve spoken about this a few times before; a newsletter is probably one of the easiest businesses to get started in. You can start today for free using one of several platforms.

Now, I am not saying that you will have hundreds of paying subscribers by the end of your first week, but the content and the delivery of the newsletter is incredibly simple to do and can take between one or a few days to do.

Is This The Future Of Making Money Online?

In a recent article I talked about how AI is stealing information from websites and delivering it in ‘chat boxes’ when people use them for research, instead of delivering a list of websites in the search results.

This new way of researching information is literally stealing the content from other people’s websites and is causing people to completely bypass their websites.

Fortunately, all is not lost as I recently shared with you a couple of ways that people can make money with an online business where AI isn’t going to be any competition.

Well, it won’t be able to steal your content and leave you high and dry.

Two powerful ways to beat AI:

  1. Become a mini celebrity with a recognisable face so that people come looking for you and not just your message.
  2. Put your best content behind a paywall and charge either for each piece separately or as a monthly subscription.

The point of charging for content is that there are a lot of people who are willing to pay for the best content there is.

AI is not delivering the best content.

It is very often wrong, it cannot differentiate as to what is correct, and if there are holes in the information it is searching for it often fills them with stuff it has made up, and that is no good to anyone.

Factually, AI can be useless if it has not been checked thoroughly.

Quite a lot of people are turning their backs on AI sourced content and favouring content that has personality and experience as well as being factually accurate.

AI has no ‘experience’ of doing specific things or living a specific life, whereas people do, and so people want to buy information from people who have had that experience and who they can trust.

Technically, you should trust AI more than people as a machine has no ‘ulterior motive’ and isn’t out to scam you as some people are, but firsthand experience and success in something specific is powerful in gaining people’s trust.

Plus, until AI becomes 100% accurate with what it delivers, there is no reason to trust it over people.

You simply cannot trust AI to get it right.

I like the idea of putting content behind a paywall, so much so, I decided to try it myself with this video here.

It means that those who are truly interested in your content can access it, and you make money for your efforts.

It also means that a website owner can make money without having to fill it with hundreds of annoying adverts which give a bad user-experience.

There is nothing worse than trying to read an article that should take less than five minutes to read yet the page takes ages to load fully due to all of the adverts loading, and every time you scroll down to read adverts keep popping up all over the place.

There has been many times where I have closed down a website because I have been unable to read an article due to all of the adverts getting in the way and slowing everything down.

Putting content behind a paywall is easy when you know how… and fortunately, there is not a lot to know.

You will need a Stripe account where you set up a new ‘product’, you take the link that is generated and add it to a payment button on your website, like the one you see on this page HERE.

Deciding on how much you are going to charge for your content is probably harder than actually setting up the paywall.

If you charge too much, very few people will buy access to your content, plus you will need to create good sales copy to help motivate people to buy.

If you charge too little, then you are giving your content away for next to nothing.

In my experiment, I charged £2.99 for a 20 minute video along with a short piece of content addressing pricing for a monthly newsletter.

I believe that I could charge a lot more for that video.

Even if I charged £97 for it and only one person used the information to start a newsletter that earns them more than £97 per month, it was worth it… to them at least.

I just wanted to test a cheap price and see if there were any takers… and I am happy to say that there were.

Go take a look at it now, as I believe that this method of content delivery, and the subject matter of the video, is the future of making money online.

What Can You Learn From Drug Dealers Selling Crack In A Park?

This week I caught a clip of a police drama set in Manchester where a female detective was trying to find out who had killed her partner.

Her partner was standing at a bus stop and was killed when a woman crashed into it trying to get away from a group of youths who were firing a gun at her.

It wasn’t as straightforward as it first appeared.

It wasn’t an accident as they first thought.

The detective wasn’t in the wrong place at the wrong time, and the drive-by shooting wasn’t coincidental, it was all staged as a way to look like an accident and the intention was to kill the detective at the bus stop.

As part of her investigation, the female detective went and spoke to several people in the criminal underworld which resulted in the revenge killings of the youths who were paid to shoot-up the car.

Before the youths were killed, the drama showed them ‘working’ in the park selling drugs.

What I found interesting about this part of the show was the system that they used to minimise the risk of being arrested and sent to prison.

A simple drug purchase involved about five people.

There was the guy who acted like a receptionist. He would greet people and take the order, and direct them to another gang member who would take the money.

A guy on a bike would be motioned over who would be told what drugs was wanted.

He would go and collect the money then ride to a location nearby where he would meet with another gang member on a bike who would swap the money for the drugs.

He would then take the drugs to a fourth gang member who would then pass the drugs onto the customer.

The other gang member on the bike would then take the money back to the place from where he had fetched the drugs.

There were five people in the system, six if you count the person at the flat who was storing the drugs.

The reason for this system was that should the police swoop onto the park, each member of the gang were carrying either a small amount of money or a small amount of drugs that can only be considered as for ‘personal use’.

They didn’t have both money and drugs; it was one or the other.

None of the gang members were carrying anything that could have them arrested and charged with intent to supply or for carrying the proceeds of drug dealing.

The system protected them from being sent away for a long time. The system worked perfectly.

The biggest risk was to the people in the flat holding on to the larger amount of drugs, but with only one person showing up there to collect the drugs and drop off the money, it wasn’t so obvious that anything criminal was going on.

It reminds me of a documentary I watched a year or two back that interviewed a couple of ex-drug lords from Liverpool who now regret their involvement in turning Liverpool into a cesspit of drug damaged people and gang violence.

One man who had spent many years in prison for his involvement in gang killings and violence shared how at one point he had a well oiled machine where he had a team of people all doing different tasks.

Just like the youths in the drama, he had a team of people who would sell weed, another team who would sell heroin, and another team selling crack cocaine.

Each team had several individuals who had their own part to play which they would not deviate from.

He had a system that ran smoothly and made him a lot of money.

Sadly it created a lot of damage and devastation to the people of Liverpool, but for him, at that time, it made him a lot of money.

Unfortunately for him, he ended up in prison, he lost his family, he lost a lot of close friends, and he had nothing financially to show for this money making operation. At the end of the day it wasn’t worth it for him.

However…

The point I want to make here is that systems work… you just need to choose your system wisely!

System 903 is a system that makes money with the added bonus of you not having to worry about the police, going to prison, or rival drug gangs wanting to hurt you badly… or worse, kill you.

Roy, the man who developed System 903, made £47,000 in one year using it.

What’s better is that you don’t need a team for this, you can do this alone from the comfort of your own home, and you can do it on your smartphone.

The only other thing you may need is a notepad and a pen to do some basic arithmetic. But you could do that on your smartphone too if you wish.

Would You Like To Know An Easy Way Of Making £10,000 Or More?

Would you like to know an easy way of making £10,000 or more?

As a publisher of information products for over 30 years, Streetwise Publications have built up a large database of customers.

A huge number of those customers are repeat customers and they are always looking for something new.

The biggest problem is finding good quality products to sell to those people.

I am always on the lookout for new products that I believe our customers would be interested in.

Occasionally I get an email from someone telling me that they have a great idea for a product, but I cannot really sell an idea… at least not someone else’s idea.

I have sold ‘MY’ ideas before and when I have seen that people are interested in buying, I get someone on my team to create the product.

When it is someone else’s idea, I don’t know if they are going to actually deliver on the product and so I don’t want to take payment for something that doesn’t yet exist.

If it’s my idea and I know that my team can create and deliver it, then that’s fine, but it is a big no-no if it is someone else’s idea.

There is a reason that I am telling you this… and that reason is that if you do have an idea for a product that is a good match with our customers… I have the customers to sell it to.

As I have explained, I don’t sell ideas, but I do consider products that are ready to sell.

So, if you do have an idea for a product and you would like me to consider it then this is what I need:

  1. A finished (or next to finished) product to look at.
  2. A sales letter/page to read.

If it looks like something I believe our customers would be interested in, and it is basically ready to go, then I may offer to do a joint venture with you.

I may make changes to the sales page and product name to suit the audience, but other than that, when a product is finished and ready to sell, that is usually what is sold.

Please note: when I say an easy way of making £10,000, I am talking about creating a product then us selling it for you as a joint venture.

The ease comes from not having to publish and promote the product yourself using a variety of traffic generating methods.

We do that for you.

Remember, I can put your product in front of tens of thousands of people who have already bought from us.

To do that yourself when you don’t have an established list of customers is going to take you a lot of time, money, and effort.

These customers trust us and have bought multiple times from us.

Selling to people who have already bought from you is far easier than trying to sell to someone new, which is what you will have to do when you publish a product yourself and start from scratch.

Creating a product itself is not actually that hard.

In fact you can have a product and its sales page ready within 30 days… and that is when you do it in your spare time.

It can be done faster if you are able to dedicate more time to it.

Virtually all of the products we have sold over the years have made £30,000 or more.

So as I say, I may be able to help you make £10,000 or more by promoting your product… but like I say, it needs to be finished with a sales page that I can take a proper good look at.

How To Profit Twice From The Biology Of DEATH!

I recently read on Twitter… I mean X, or whatever it is called these days, that a forensic pathologist in Iceland (the only one apparently) was getting so bogged down by constant questions from crime writers, he decided to hold a small seminar.

It seems that Iceland has far more crime writers than forensic pathologists and while they were busy beavering away writing about unusual murders and exotic ways to die, they constantly emailed questions to the local forensic pathologist looking for answers so that they can be as accurate and believable as possible.

The forensic pathologist was getting so many questions; he decided to hold a small seminar… which immediately sold out.

Because there was a lot of demand for that seminar he had to organise another one, and that too sold out.

I love that story because it highlights how a person can take the skills and knowledge they use every day, and create a second income from them.

He basically became a consultant to crime writers.

The forensic pathologist found that his expertise and time was in so much demand, it was affecting his work and robbing him of his spare time.

He needed to take back control.

He could have told people that he was no longer going to answer people’s emails, but instead he decided to charge people to come to him and ask questions.

I don’t know how much money he made, or whether he can hold regular seminars throughout the year, but he did make money and it could be the start of a second income stream, or even a career change.

He could start a website where he shares information about what happens to bodies when people have been killed. This website could be an online resource for crime writers and those wishing to learn forensic pathology.

He could also give online seminars where crime writers pay to ask him questions regarding the biology of death.

I’m sure you have heard of the popular BBC show Silent Witness where a team of forensic pathologists aid the police to solve murders by studying the crime scene and using cutting edge science.

That show was originally written by a forensic pathologist.

He took what he knew, and his experiences when helping the police with their enquiries, and created a show which is still being made today… 27 years after it first hit our screens.

What you know and do could be invaluable to other people. You could turn your knowledge, skills, and experience into a source of money, just like this forensic pathologist.

You may think nothing of your skills, knowledge, or life experiences, but to others they could be invaluable. Some people may happily pay you to learn from you or to hear about your stories.

Maybe you should make yourself a drink, grab a notebook and pen, and take some time out to sit and think about what you know and can do and how you could package that information for others to buy from you.

For all you know, you could be sitting on a little goldmine of your own.

Kind regards.

John Harrison.

How Mark Made Over £1 Million With Massage!

The name Mark Perren-Jones might not mean much to you, but he appears to be doing rather well selling video courses on the educational platform, Udemy.

He claims that he has over 250,000 students in more than 210 countries Worldwide.

His Udemy profile shows that he has had at least 212,604 students through the platform alone.

He has 25 years in the massage and spa industry and has an online business called Spa Training Academy. He has 64 video courses that are for sale on Udemy priced between £15.99 and £59.99.

One course, Acupressure Massage For Pain Relief Certificate Course, priced at £49.99 has had 20,869 students… that one course alone will have generated over £1 million if they all paid that price.

At the time of looking, it was running a special offer at £15.99 so I can’t say how much it has actually earned.

He would have made £333,695.31 if all 20,869 students paid the lower special offer price of £15.99.

Imagine how much he has earned from all of his 64 courses!

The only reason I know about Mark and his courses is that the wife of one of my team has recently bought one of his courses.

She paid £15.99 for the course which appears to have had 16,595 paying students.

It says that the original price for this course was £59.99 but it too is running a special discounted offer.

I don’t know how many people paid either £15.99 or £59.99 for the course, but if all 16,595 students paid the lower £15.99 price, Mark would have made £265,304.05 in sales.

At £15.99, those two courses combined would have generated an incredible £598,999.36 in sales.

That is just from 2 of mark’s 64 courses!

I don’t know how much Udemy take in fees for using the platform and processing payments, but I am more than sure that Mark is happy with how much money he has made from those two courses alone.

There are seven sections to one of those courses that add up to just 6 hours worth of video.

Wouldn’t you like to earn over £200,000 in passive income for what is essentially, 6 hours of video that is sat online waiting to be bought?

Mark probably spent a few days editing the videos and creating the few PDFs which came with the course, but £200,000+ for a week’s work is pretty good…

Wouldn’t you agree?

I don’t know exactly when Mark started to create his courses for Udemy, but I have a feeling that the Covid lockdowns of 2020 played a huge part.

Mark runs a spa and with the lockdowns and distancing rules at that time preventing people going to certain places or using specific services, it was a worrying time for businesses that relied on a stream of people going through its doors each day.

It seems that instead of sitting around fearing the worst, he created a profitable online business that could possibly be making him more money than his actual spa.

Some of his videos on YouTube are 13 years old so it’s possible that he had already planned on building an online passive income and maybe those videos helped him ride out the pandemic.

Either or… he is now doing rather well with his courses on Udemy.

I am sharing his story with you because I wanted to highlight that it is more than possible for anyone to make a decent amount of money creating simple video courses and selling them via platforms like Udemy.

Mark has taken his interests, knowledge, and skills in a variety of massage and spa treatments, and built himself an online business that is raking in a lot of money.

Looking at all of his 64 courses, I would say that he has made well over £1 million.

Whilst I cannot say whether you will make a million or more doing this, I can say that there is a fantastic opportunity here to make a lot of money.

The tools to create a decent series of videos are available to each and every one of us today. Videos can be recorded and edited using just the smartphone in your pocket.

A cheap phone stand with a ring light could be all that you need to record a decent series of videos that could sell for a decent profit.

If you want to record a screen to make a tutorial, there are tools that can do that on both laptop and mobile devices that are cheap to buy.

The tools are there to be used.

Also, these courses can be sold via a website, Mark has several on his own website, and they could also be added to other platforms like Patreon and Gumroad to create another passive income stream.

And just like eBooks, once these courses are finished and online, they can be bought by customers at any time of the day and night for years to come.

With Mark’s videos teaching massage and spa treatments which are never going to go out of date or change, his videos can sell for years to come.

Could this be the ideal business model for you?

Kind regards.

John Harrison.

How A £27.99 eBook Could Be Life Saving

The wife of one of our team recently bought a health and wellness eBook for €27.99 (£24).

The eBook was published as a PDF.

A PDF (portable document format) can be easily read across many platforms.

The book itself is well designed and looks great, although there are a few spelling errors that need addressing, but that is the great thing about eBooks, they can be published and any corrections can be made easily within a few minutes and new customers will buy the updated and corrected version.

There is no waiting for the next print run to make corrections like you did in the old days with physical books.

The book was written by Rebecca Holland from Dublin, Ireland, and it lays out a way for women to balance their hormones through the use of healthy food.

The foods focus on managing and maintain hormones such as cortisol and insulin which are vital for managing weight and staying healthy.

As far as I can see, her main traffic source is Instagram where she publishes short videos of herself cooking nutritious foods that help balance hormonal responses within the body.

Why am I telling you this?

The reason I am telling you this is that from what I can see, she has had quite a lot of sales of her PDF eBook… and this is something anyone can do.

The PDF and other eBook formats have given ordinary everyday people like you the opportunity to make money with little (if any) upfront investment.

Add to that the opportunity to build a large following using free social media platforms, people can earn a decent amount of money from the comfort of their own homes publishing eBooks.

And it can all be done for next-to-nothing!

Some people may think charging £24 or more for a PDF is a little expensive, but it’s actually a small price to pay if the information within that PDF changes a person’s life for the better.

And if the information is life-changing, and people are willing to pay that price to change their lives, why would you not charge it?

You could charge a lot more… and fear not, this isn’t about greed; it is about making the maximum possible amount of profit while helping as many people as possible.

If a piece of information can change a person’s life for the better, surely they would be willing to pay anything to acquire it?

You would think so, but no… people aren’t willing to pay too much even if it was incredibly transformational.

They are happy to pay a decent amount, but they won’t pay a ridiculous amount… which is itself quiet strange when you consider that over time people spend ridiculous amounts of money on things that are either harmful or simply don’t benefit their lives at all.

Take the following story as a perfect example…

This week I read about 37-year-old Lucy Austen, here in the UK, who was forced to give up her tinned fruit habit which resulted in her losing 15 stone and saving over £3,200-a-year.

When the Covid lockdowns started in 2020, she turned to eating ice cream for comfort.

Realising that she was harming her health eating four tubs of ice cream a day, she swapped to tinned fruit thinking it was better… until she piled on the weight and was told by her doctor that she had developed Type 2 Diabetes.

At one point, she was eating nine tins of fruit a day.

The sugar in the ice cream and the tinned fruit (and syrup) played havoc on her system and messed up her hormones (ghrelin and leptin are hormones that regulate hunger and satiety, insulin and cortisol are hormones that regulate weight gain and weight loss) resulting in diabetes for which her doctor told her that she needed to regularly take insulin to help.

She gave up eating the tinned fruit, lost 15 stone in weight, reversed her diabetes and saved £3,200-a-year.

Had she learned that information from a book… it would have been worth at least the £3,200 she is now saving each year.

The benefits to her health are far more valuable than £3,200.

The beneficial knock-on-effect to her life is immeasurable. It could easily be worth tens of thousands of pounds in life benefits and savings.

Had she carried on with her harmful diet for another five years, it would have cost her at least £16,000 in tins of fruit, and a whole range of other costs associated with bad health, being overweight, and a bad diet.

So yes, paying £24 or more for a PDF is most definitely worth it.

Let’s say that you publish an eBook priced at £27.99, you only need to sell 1 copy of that eBook each day to make a cool £10,216.35 per year.

With the cost of the website and the payment processor fees to take into consideration, you could be looking at over £9,000 profit!

That’s not bad for a simple PDF, is it?

The good news is that it can take 30 days or less to create a PDF eBook and publish it online as part of your own fully automatic passive income system that generates sales at any time of the day and night.

£4,700 Per Month In Passive Income

I want to share with you a quick and easy way to get started with an online business.

This could easily make you more than enough money each month to cover all of your living costs.

But if at the very least it pays for one bill… that is one bill less to worry about.

It may not make money right away, but it is one that will grow and can become incredibly profitable.

I touched upon it recently in another article where I shared with you the story of the 20-year-old who was now earning £4,700 per month in passive income from a website dedicated to ‘fishing’ that he set up for less than £400!

What I am about to share with you now is similar… and slightly different.

What you will need:

  1. A blog-style website (like this one) where you can post stuff over time.
  2. An email list manager so people can subscribe.
  3. Products to sell (affiliate offers are easiest).
  4. Content (which you will write).

It requires picking a subject that you enjoy or know well (or want to be involved in), and start a blog-style website focusing on that subject alone.

Picking a subject that you enjoy or know well makes it easier to research, and is more fun to work on.

The idea is that you write and post content regularly to the website, grow an email list, and promote products to the people who visit and join your email list.

It’s easier than you may think.

A website can cost as little as £100 for two years, and an email list manager can be free until you hit a specific number.

This is an incredibly cheap business to start and it can be incredibly profitable.

You start at step 3 by researching what products people want to buy and what products are selling well. These can be affiliate products so you don’t need to panic thinking that you need to make products, although that would be a good idea for later.

The goal is to find 12 different products so that you can promote one product each month.

Next, you create the content.

The good news is that you don’t have to write an endless amount of content for this to work. Ideally, you want just one year’s worth of evergreen content that you will loop.

If you cannot create daily content, try and publish two or three times each week. The purpose of this is to be consistent enough to condition visitors to know they can come back for more fresh content regularly.

This content is loaded onto your website; you then send emails to your growing email list informing them of the new content.

Both the articles on the website and the emails have a section for an advert to promote whichever product you are promoting that week.

You can send individual emails to promote specific products too.

The idea here is to loop the content so that you can reduce the constant need to keep creating new content.

You can add new content if you wish, but once you have a year’s worth of content; you could move onto another website and start a new income stream.

You may think that you need a ton of content, but that is not actually true…

3 articles a week is 156.

You will need one email per article giving you a total of 156 emails too.

Depending on your niche, you could get away with doing just one article a week (as long as they are full of useful information).

Or…

You could do 3 articles per week for 3 or 6 months, and then simply loop them.

And by loop I mean when you have sent the email to your list pointing people to the last article, you start again from the beginning.

So, if you do a full year, once email 156 has been sent sending people to article 156, you start again at article and email number 1.

If you do just 78 articles and emails, as soon as email 78 has been sent directing people to article 78, you go back to the beginning and start again with email and article number 1.

You don’t need to keep creating new content; you can simply reuse and recycle what you have already created.

Yes, you can add a new piece of content now and then, but it doesn’t need to be every week once the websites is established.

It may sound like a lot of work, but it really isn’t.

I mentioned about the 20-year-old who was now making £4,700 per month in passive income, you could be doing the same.

It took him a year to get his website up to the point that he is now making that money passively each month.

As with everything, it is all about good planning, and sticking to the plan.

This is a low level business model that is simple to implement, can be set-and-forget, and can be replicated easily creating several passive income streams.

Oh, and a profitable website business can be sold for up to 10 times its annual revenue.

What We Can All Learn From The Spectacular Downfall Of The Family Fraudster

Did you hear the story of Melissa Caddick?

She is the Australian fraudster that conned around $23 million (AUS) out of close friends and family as well as other ‘clients’.

There is a three part drama and a documentary about her story on ITVX which is a fascinating watch.

Caddick wasn’t legally allowed to manage and invest money for other people, yet that is what she promised her clients.

But instead of investing their hard-earned savings, she took their money and spent it on herself.

This included money from her parents, brother, an aunty and uncle, close neighbours, and her best friend.

She got away with it by mocking up false trading statements claiming that everything was going so well, people decided to leave the money in to make more money, with several investing more money with her.

She wasn’t a criminal mastermind, just someone who had enough gall to shamelessly lie to clients and close friends and family.

Whenever someone wanted their money back and any profits they believed they had made, she paid them off with the money she had conned out of new clients.

In November 2020, just as the authorities moved in to investigate, she disappeared, never to be seen again apart from one severed foot that washed ashore onto a beach a few hundred miles down the coast.

It is believed that she committed suicide to escape the situation she now found herself in.

Some people believe that she had cut her own foot off and faked her own death as a way to escape.

Suicide is most likely.

But the problem is that once someone has been exposed as a liar who has lied and conned people for years including close family and friends, all trust is gone and people will expect them to do something as extreme as faking their own death to avoid being sent to prison.

Melissa Caddick has destroyed the lives of many people because of greed, many of them being close family and friends.

In the drama, one of her victims, the brother of her close friend (who was also conned), had planned to retire at 40 on the profits he believed he was making.

Instead he was left with no savings and the knowledge that he won’t be retiring anytime soon.

What is doubly sad about this is that if she had the confidence and the ‘ball’s to do what she had done, she had more than enough confidence to do something legal and build an incredibly profitable business of her own… that wouldn’t have ended up with a prison sentence or suicide.

Maybe it would have taken longer and it would maybe required a bit more work than lying to people and mocking up false statements – although I would imagine constantly lying to people is a lot of hard work, it’s not something I would want to spend my days doing.

Melissa was simply a greedy person who just wanted to live a champagne lifestyle using other people’s money.

The idea of actually building something of her own probably wasn’t something she was ever going to consider…not while she could simply talk people into giving her their money.

Unless she did fake her own death and is actually alive somewhere and living on money she has manage to hide from the authorities, her con has left her dead and her family with nothing.

It was all pretty pointless in the end.

Instead of the grief of taking money from other people to pay off those who wanted their money back, if she had taken a small amount of money and started a business that generated a passive income, she could have been quite easily living a champagne lifestyle using her own money… without having to deal with ‘clients’ and authorities.

There are many ways today to make a lot of money.

I recently read about a 20-year-old who was now earning around £4,700 per month in passive income from a website dedicated to ‘fishing’ that he set up for less than £400!

I know that £4,700 per month is nothing compared to the sums of money that Melissa Caddick was stealing and playing with, but this is from one just website.

Some of the money made from that one website could then be used to make more of those websites which generate more passive income.

It could be used to pay other people to make those websites rendering the whole business passive other than communicating with and paying those who do the work.

She could have also taken a small amount of money and started an information publishing business.

You can start an information publishing business for free these days, but had you used a minuit fraction of the money Melissa was taking from people, you could have a whole range of eBooks and courses online that could be generating you a HUGE passive income.

There is no reason to be conning people for money these days.

There is more than enough money circling around online that anyone can tap into and cream off a decent profit.

“READ THIS URGENTLY!! I’m Terrified!”

“READ THIS URGENTLY!! I’m Terrified!”

That was the title to an email I received this week from a guy who was informing people that his Facebook account had been suspended pending further investigations.

He didn’t know why his account was shut down, and I am happy to say that he has since had his account restored, but it should be a warning to those who use the platform to promote affiliate products.

There is a big push for people to use free social media platforms to promote high ticket affiliate offers which pay out large commissions.

The amount of money a person can earn per sale can be quite a lot. It’s not uncommon for people to earn the equivalent to a month’s wage with one sale.

So you can see why people are attracted to this kind of business model.

The marketing is free and the commissions are high.

The problem is that for most of these products, unless you create your own courses, you often need to be a paying member of the product you are promoting… which means quite a hefty up-font purchase.

Think about it, how else are people going to earn commissions of £1,500 or more without people buying those courses at over £2,000?

Those commissions need to come from somewhere and it usually comes from people selling over-priced products.

It is very reminiscent of the old Multi-level Marketing and Pyramid schemes where members spent their time trying to recruit new people to join their team.

Instead of members paying £47 or £97 each month and earning half of that in commissions whenever they recruited a new member, today new members pay a huge chunk upfront and a half or more of that is then passed onto the recruiter as a commission.

It’s all the same… but done slightly different.

And this is why Facebook is very weary of these kinds of products.

I don’t know what the rules are for Facebook these days, but you were not allowed to use your own personal profile to conduct or promote your business.

That was what Facebook Pages and Groups were for.

A lot of the high ticket affiliate marketers are using their personal profiles for this because they can record and share short videos known as ‘Stories’.

These videos get shared across multiple social media platforms and can result in them being seen by a lot of people.

It is amazing how many views these types of videos can have.

The guy who had his Facebook account suspended also has a couple of Facebook groups where he sends people to where he does most of his ‘selling’.

The selling is also done via chatting in messages.

Everything was all conducted within Facebook… and that was what he was teaching too.

It is a great business model when it works well… apart from the fact that some of the products they sell are overpriced and a little spammy.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind selling life changing courses at a decent price, but I am not keen on the price being doubled just to attract people to sell them on your behalf, which is exactly what a lot of these courses owners do.

I’m surprised that this chap got his Facebook account restored.

I can only assume that the rules have changed over the years and that Facebook is a little more comfortable with the idea of people using their own profiles to conduct business.

I see estate agents doing it regularly, and if it is OK for them, it should be OK for others.

But, the fact remains… if those rules were to change, which they often do, you risk losing EVERYTHING should you have your account shut down, just as this guy did briefly.

As soon as his account was restored, he shared a video saying how he had endured two stressful days and two sleepless nights thanks to Facebook’s decision to suspend his account.

He appealed and had to wait to see what their verdict was going to be.

If they decided to uphold their decision to suspend his account and shut it down for good, he would have lost everything… bar the email list he had fortunately created.

Some people don’t even do that! They rely only on Facebook.

The email list was mostly built by taking the email addresses of people who joined his Facebook group and putting them into Aweber.

He does have a landing page built using Aweber, but he doesn’t actually have his own website, which is foolish in my opinion… but I imagine that is all about to change now… and so it should.

Yes, having access to Facebook groups which are free to use, is incredibly attractive… but you really should filter people away to a platform that YOU OWN to lessen the risk of losing everything.

Had he not collected email addresses, he wouldn’t have been able to contact anyone to tell them what had happened.

Once a Facebook account is shut down, you cannot do anything. You can’t even send messages to anyone via their messenger system.

You are completely cast adrift without a lifejacket.

Fortunately he had his email list to which he could contact people.

Even more fortunate is that he had his Facebook account restored.

He needs a website where he can share vital information, makes sales, and give away the same content he shares to Facebook.

If the worst case scenario happened and he did lose his account for good, he would still have a place where people could contact him, and a place where he could carry on with his business.

Yes, he could open up another Facebook account and be more careful.

But he should simply use the social media platforms to send people to his website where the selling should be done.

Comparing the results companies get when using social media and email, email wins, hands down.

Email is still the best way to sell and promote products… and will be for many more years to come.

The daft thing is that a website can cost as little as £100 for two years and yet it can generate hundreds of thousands of pounds during that time.

Social media platforms like Facebook should only be used as tools for your business, and not be your business.

They can be taken away from you without warning and you can lose everything… and you don’t want that!
