How Very Dare You!

I recently wrote about a TikTok influencer who recorded himself dancing on a plane. I said that I believed that he would be successful because he had the ‘balls’ to do stuff without worrying about what other people thought.

I called him a ‘pain in the arse’ because that is what a lot of people think annoying social media influencers are, and after seeing what people online were saying about this particular guy, it was safe to assume that this is what they were thinking.

I noticed that in my email provider, one person had complained about that particular email.

It’s possible that someone objected to the use of ‘pain in the arse’ or perhaps they thought that is what I was calling him.

Yes, part of me might have been, but I was mainly calling him a ‘pain in the arse’ because that is how he was being perceived by all the people who were posting negative comments about him and his antics.

I was just reading the room and reporting on what other people were thinking.

It’s interesting how people can be upset and offended at specific things.

If the person who clicked the ‘complain’ button thought I was being offensive and negative towards the young dancing guy, they are very much mistaken as I am the one who is declaring that they will be a success because they are willing to pop their heads above the parapet and be shot at.

I admire their annoying behaviour.

They are not afraid to do what is necessary to become a success. It’s not for me, I won’t film myself doing cringe-worthy stuff, but many people do and it works for them.

I also recently wrote about ‘troll marketing’ where people take negative comments and criticism about their businesses or behaviour and turn it into content for their business… this email is an example of that… sort of.

OK, I haven’t received any negative comments or feedback as such, but someone has complained about something I wrote, and I dare say that the complaint is born from a misunderstanding of what was being said.

But… it gave me an idea about something to write about.

The point is that if you want to be successful, you need to have the courage to put your head above the parapet and to take any negativity thrown your way and use it for you own benefit.

It’s far easier for people to complain and comment than it is to create content and build a business, which is why the people who engage in trolling and complaining will never be as successful as their creator counterparts.

There are two types of people in this world…

Consumers and Creators

Yes, you can do a bit of both… but on the whole, businesses and wealth are built by creators.

Consumers are complainers as they generally sit around taking and if what they consume is not to their liking, they kick up a fuss.

Creators on the other hand are very often too busy ‘creating’ to complain.

The car manufacturer, Lamborghini, were once asked why they did not run television commercials advertising their high end sports cars, their answer was ‘the type of people who buy Lamborghinis do not sit around watching television’.

They may consume niche specific magazines and business books, but they don’t spend their days watching reality television shows, quiz shows, dramas, films, or documentaries… and they don’t spend hours watching cat videos on YouTube and trawling through social media feeds.

They’d rather create than consume.

Creators are rewarded with people paying them money.

Consumers are rewarded with less money because they are spending and not earning.

Creating content can grow businesses and they can build a brand. With the world turning to AI tools, I believe real people are going to be the ones who will be rewarded with a lot of money.

People buy from real people, and they buy from people they Like, Know, and Trust… and you simply don’t get that from a faceless AI generated avatar.

Creating content that helps you grow your own personal brand doesn’t have to be hard. It can be incredible simple and quick.

When I was a teen, if I wanted to record myself dancing on a plane, I would have needed a large hefty video recorder that sat on your shoulder and a bag of tapes, and then I would have no way of sharing the footage with potentially millions of people.

Today, we can record videos within seconds using a phone that is the size of a small notepad, we can edit those videos on the phone and upload them to several FREE platforms and put them in front of millions of people within a few minutes.

Depending on what your video is, within half an hour you could have new unique content online that is building your brand and growing your business.

PS… Over the last week you may have noticed that we have shared several videos (like the one seen on the page here: How To Create Profitable Content Quickly) and the reason for that is that they are incredibly easy to create and they are brilliant for sharing with people, they can deliver useful information quickly and easily, and they are great for brand building.

Reasons To Move Your Atomic Newsletter To Your Website

There’s been a lot of debate recently on what is the best type of email to send to your email list.

With both Google and Yahoo really clamping down on ‘spammy’ emails, some marketers think that ‘text’ only emails with one link is best for deliverability.

It helps to get the emails through Google and Yahoo’s system.

Others say that images and multiple links are fine. I guess the success of people’s email marketing is dependent on the relationship they have with the people on their lists.

The legendary online marketer, Neil Patel, sends ‘text-only’ emails to his email list of 1,588,639 people (not a bad sized email list!) because he says it works best for him.

Neil recently ran multiple AB split tests to determine what the best word count was for an email.

He sent a series of emails that were:

  1. 99 words or less.
  2. 100 to 249 words.
  3. 250 to 459 words.
  4. 500 to 999 words.
  5. 1,000 or more words.

Neil ran the test 6 times to ensure that he got accurate data.

The results were:

  1. 99 words or less – 2nd best 2.72%
  2. 100 to 249 words – best open rate at 3.84%
  3. 250 to 459 words – 3rd best 2.53%
  4. 500 to 999 words – 4th best 0.92%
  5. 1,000 or more words – 5th best 0.69%

He ran the test again using the email lists of 26 different companies in various industries – Neil runs an agency that manages emails and marketing for companies.

The email lists were of at least 100,000 people and had an active open rate of 20% or higher.

The results were:

  1. 99 words or less – 3rd best 1.98%
  2. 100 to 249 words – best open rate at 3.57%
  3. 250 to 459 words – 2nd best 2.01%
  4. 500 to 999 words – 5th best 0.59%
  5. 1,000 or more words – 4th best 0.86%

As you can see, the results are close to the findings from the tests he ran with his own list.

It appears that the emails that are 100 to 249 words long are the clear winner here.

2nd and 3rd place go to those emails also with a low word count.

Now, I don’t know why longer emails are not being opened because people cannot see how long an email is until they open them.

Perhaps shorter emails are getting through the filtration systems at Google, Yahoo, and other mail services.

Maybe people opened up 2 or 3 of the longer emails and then stopped opening any following emails as they expected them to be longer, whereas the shorter emails were quick to read and so people were happy to open any following emails.

One of the aims with email marketing is that you train and condition people to do something specific and so if you send out a lot of long emails, subscribers will get used to them and expect them.

That means that if they don’t want to read long emails and they know that is what you send… they won’t open your emails.

The results from Neil’s experiment are interesting. His findings show that a lot of people do not want to read a lot in an email.

That doesn’t necessarily match my experiences.

Depending on what list I send emails to, some of my longer emails (some include images) have an open rate of over 30% which is very good for the industry.

However, that doesn’t mean that I couldn’t have better results if I started to send out emails with 259 words or less.

After seeing Neil’s research, it makes me realise how wonderful people like you are because you are willing to read my long emails.

Another finding which is interesting is how many marketers only include one link in an email. They may repeat it a few times, but they only link out to one destination.

This I found interesting because I recently wrote about how Atomic Newsletters were becoming popular with marketers.

These newsletters are usually less than 250 words meaning that they are fast to read, and they are fast to create.

These styles of newsletters include several different links as they are designed to share great information with the people on their email lists without taking up a lot of their time.

Personally, it doesn’t make much sense to me because if people do click through the links to the recommended article, video, or podcast, those people will spend their time consuming that information.

If that’s the case, they may as well read a long email.

Worst thing about Atomic Newsletters is that those who use them share a lot of ‘other people’s content which means that their subscribers are being sent to ‘other people’s’ content meaning that they are not consuming their own content.

Why send your subscribers to spend their time consuming other people’s content as a way to respect their time?

It makes no sense to me.

I am not sure whether I agree that multiple links are a problem due to retail giants such as Amazon that use email to promote products generally link out to more than one destination. I don’t think they suffer because of it.

Still, putting that aside for one minute, the idea of only using one link in emails that have fewer than 250 words had me thinking… what if you were to actually host your Atomic Newsletter on your website and simple send an email that sends people to it.

I see many reasons as to why this could be beneficial to you.

  1. Your email has a greater chance of getting through the filters email services use to remove spam and dodgy emails.

  2. You are sending people to your website where they can access more of your content… if you make it easier for them, that is.

  3. You can include as many images, links, and product adverts on your page as you want.

  4. You can use as many words as you wish.

I am going to use today’s email as an example.

This part is going to go on to the website and a shorter email is going to be sent out directing people to it.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens. This is my little experiment.

I have been thinking of trying out a new Atomic Newsletter of our own called…

…but for now, I think that I shall test this little idea first.

Let me know what you think…

Do you prefer to read long emails or short emails?

Would you rather read emails as articles via the website like this one?

Send your answers and feedback to Andi, our email chap, at admin@streetwisepublicationsltd.com

John Harrison.

P.S… As a side note, it’s easy for people to say that you don’t need a website these days and that you can run a complete online business via email or social media… and yes, it’s true, you don’t necessarily NEED one, but it’s like trying to run a restaurant without a kitchen or dining area.

It is much easier when you have your own piece of online property.

Why The ‘Pain In The Arse’ TikTok Influencer Dancing On A Plane Will Be A Success

I recently saw a post on the popular website, The Poke, sharing pictures of people’s response to a video that was doing the rounds on TikTok.

The video is of a young guy recording himself dancing in the aisle of a plane mid flight.

The responses were lifted from X, the social media platform originally called Twitter.

I haven’t seen the video myself; I have only seen other people’s responses to it, which are quiet comical in their attacks on the ‘annoying influencer’.

I use the word ‘influencer’ because that is what these people are known as, but who they are influencing and to do what remains to be seen.

A lot of these ‘influencers’ record themselves doing a variety of stunts.

Some are ridiculous such as leaping between parapets on the highest buildings, high above the city streets without safety gear, others are just funny routines done to make people laugh and smile.

Influencers mostly do things to grow a large number of followers and get thousands of people sharing, liking, and commenting on their videos.

Sadly, it pains me to say this… but… that young ‘influencer’ filming himself on a plane has a greater chance of success than most people, no matter how annoying others find him and his antics.

You see, he has ‘balls’, and that’s not me throwing my tuppence into the current debate on gender, either.

He has the courage to get up and do what he wanted to do without worrying whether anyone would think that he was an annoying little ‘pain in the arse’.

He is thick skinned enough to not allow other people’s opinions stop him from doing what he wanted to achieve… which was to film himself dancing on a crowded plane.

The idea of filming yourself dancing in the aisle of a packed plane makes me cringe, but that doesn’t matter to him.

Not only has his video gone viral on TikTok, people are talking about it on all social media platforms, and websites like the Poke are reporting on it.

I imagine that his video has been seen millions of times and if he earns money based on the number of views the video receives, then he is going to be banking quite a bit of money.

Different platforms pay people differently, but that video spread across several platforms could be generating him more than enough money to live on for the whole year.

Plus, all the exposure could grow his following to a figure that means every video he posts from now on will earn him a decent amount of money.

If he does have a large number of fans, companies would be rushing to offer him money to advertise their products in his videos.

Online sponsorship is a huge business today.

Many companies include sponsoring popular ‘influencers’ as part of their online advertising campaigns. The return on their investment when using sponsored content is probably far greater than direct adverts.

The reason for that is, although people are told that the content is sponsored (by law it should be disclosed), they trust the influencer that they follow.

When people see an advert they ‘know’ that it is an advert which was purposely staged by the company using an expensive ad agency, but with sponsored content, they still believe that the influencers would only recommend products they believe are good.

They trust the influencer and their judgement.

They believe that an influencer would turn down a sponsored post if it didn’t align with them or their audience. This may not be true, but that is what people think.

Sponsored content can be powerful and it can result in a lot of people buying the product or service that was recommended.

You only have to think of Oprah Winfrey’s Book Club section on her popular chat shows.

I don’t know if she was ever paid by publishers or whether she actually just recommended the books that she liked, but she could make an unknown book a bestseller by simply recommending it to her ‘viewers’.

As soon as she revealed the book and said that she really loved it, people would rush to the shops to buy it.

Sales would sky rocket from her recommendations.

The world is changing and instead of there being just a handful of ‘big name’ influencers broadcasting to millions through television sets; there are now thousands of online influencers who have millions of followers.

This new generation of influencer are not afraid to get in front of the camera (the one they carry around in their pocket) no matter where they are.

They are happy to perform in front of crowds of people and document everything they do. And by doing so, they are creating a ‘celebrity’ like status online and growing a large following… for free.

So, although many of the passengers looked on in puzzlement while the young guy pranced around like a loon, and many people on social media have accused him of being an annoying attention seeing ‘pain in the arse’, dancing on the plane for a minute or two has probably done him a lot of good financially.

It could have potentially made him a lot of money or opened up doors to opportunities that he didn’t have before.

Sheffield’s own YouTube star, Morgan ‘Morgz’ Hudson, is rumoured to have bought his mother a house before he had turned 20 with the money he earned from his online videos.

He began creating videos in his bedroom back in 2015. His videos are loud and brash and they were a mix of pranks, video games, and challenges.

He currently has 12.8 million subscribers to his YouTube channel and his 843 videos have been seen over 1.5 billion times.

Even his mother – she used to appear a lot in his earlier videos – has her own YouTube channel, Morgz Mum, with 3.35 million subscribers.

The point of this article today is to say that when you have the courage to do what you want without worrying what other people think or say about you… you have a far greater chance of being successful.

So, the question is this… if you are a person who is worried or concerned about what other people say or think about what you do… could this be what is holding you back?

Is it time to grow a thick skin and ignore what other people say or think?

Because the truth is:

  1. Worrying what other people think is one of the biggest reasons people do not achieve anything in life.

And

  1. The thoughts, words, and opinions of others do not pay your bills. They don’t buy your food, they don’t pay for your holidays, they don’t buy your cars, they don’t fill your home with furniture, and they don’t pay for your entertainment and experiences.

So why make them more important than your own life’s wants and desires?

Why give other people’s thoughts, words, and opinions more credit than they really deserve?

It’s time to put yourself first and ignore what other people think.

Kind regards.

John Harrison.

Why Upsetting Your ‘Customers’ Can Be A Good Thing

A sign that you are doing great as a business is when your customers get upset with you.

I know that sounds contradictory, but if you don’t get one or two angry customers, it probably means that there isn’t the demand for your products or services yet.

An upset and angry customer is not necessarily something you want, but it can be a good sign that you are heading in the right direction.

Companies work hard to eliminate the problems which can lead to upset and angry customers, but sometimes you simply cannot help it.

A good example of this is the Leeds based bakery, Get Baked.

Get Baked create a cake called the Bruce cake which is a hand-made 24-layered chocolate cake which is usually sold by the slice. A slice is big enough for several people.

As well as selling it in their shop, they sell it online and post it out to people in a cool looking box. They open the online order form at 10 am on a Monday and a Thursday.

The demand for this cake is so huge online; it sells out within 30 seconds.

This has led to a lot of people not being able to buy the cake and becoming frustrated in the process.

This is the bit that get me… some of those who were unable to purchase a slice of Bruce cake send them stroppy and insulting emails and messages.

Some people have even accused them of being a scam.

They complain that their service is shoddy and that they ‘don’t know how to run a real business’.

They had to put a post on Instagram asking people to stop sending ‘overly aggressive and utterly rude messages’.

People who complain and send nasty messages get blacklisted and banned from buying.

One complainer said that they had been in the hospitality business for nearly 40 years and that they had ‘never known anywhere sell cake that isn’t actually in stock’.

This person also suggested that they bake more cake!

I’m more than sure that the bakers have already thought about that and know that baking more cake would mean that they can sell more… it’s just not that easy for a small company.

The fact is, Get Baked, tell people that the online sales are limited and that it is a case of first come first served.

Once it is sold out, it is sold out.

scroll down to carry on reading

FREE Blueprint & Video Tutorial - Request Your Instant Online Access Now!

Because of the success of the Bruce cake the company are moving their bakery to larger premises so that they can bake more cake.

Moving to larger premises will give them more room to produce more, but they will need more staff to help with the baking and deal with the online sales.

It’s very easy for armchair Alan Sugar’s to suggest that they bake more; the logistics to baking more is a different story, but they are addressing that. It’s just not something that can happen overnight.

Demand for their Bruce cake exploded after their TikTok videos of the Bruce cake started to go viral.

There are so many interesting points to discuss from Get Baked’s story.

  1. Their business has exploded thanks to using free social media platforms to share videos and photos.

  2. People can become absolute arses when they are frustrated and can’t get what they want. (Human nature never fails to surprise me!)

  3. Get Baked are now becoming masters of ‘troll marketing’ where they are publishing some of the abusive and insulting messages on social media while explaining that they cannot do more than they can do.

That last point is something that I am seeing more of online.

Troll marketing is a great way of getting people to engage with your online content.

You share the comments or emails that you have received from disgruntled customers who are complaining about something that is petty, extreme, and completely out of your hands.

Generally, most people will side with you and mock the troll who was expecting more than was possible.

Some companies have started to do it with Instagram influencers who contact them ‘expecting’ a lot of free stuff in exchange for them to promote that business to their audience… which is often a lot smaller than the companies own audience.

If someone has a genuine concern and a genuine complaint then you would not use that, but those ‘Karen’s’ – as they are now called – who think that you should bend over backwards for them just because they have a high opinion of themselves, use their comments and complaints in your marketing. It can work wonders.

A perfect example of this would be a hotel in Benidorm trying to attract more Spanish holidaymakers by running an advert mocking the British woman who went to Benidorm and complained on Trip Advisor that there were too many Spanish people about and how it ruined her holiday.

That would really make the Spanish laugh and talk while informing them that it was a great place for Spanish people to holiday.

Running a business can be hard and frustrating.

It can also be incredibly costly.

The owner of Get Baked apparently had a huge mortgage and probably a few loans to help pay for the new larger premises they are moving into.

You have to invest if you want to grow and with equipment, staff, insurances, gas and electricity, ingredients/products, a store, and now larger premises to pay for, they are investing heavily.

It can be scary running a business.

But there are other ways to make money that don’t require you to have all of those running costs associated with a business like Get Baked.

A great way to make money from home is to trade horse races that have a high probability of giving you a winner.

I know what you are thinking, how do you determine which races have a high probability of giving you a winner?

All races have a winner, but there are a few races where there is a greater chance of picking the winner by looking at a series of stats.

John Banks is a numbers and stats man; he loves nothing more than figuring out systems that use information that is overlooked by most people.

He recently developed the Easy As 123 System which takes readily-available information – that most people ignore – and turns it into easy profits using Betfair.

As the name applies, the system is easy to do. You simply check a few tables, then place a few bets on a few specific horses

There’s another profitable advantage to be had right now with it being the middle of winter, and that is that most of the horse races are currently run on jump tracks, a track favoured by John as they are the most profitable for him.

This Man Made £30,000 In 8 Months Doing This 2 Hour Job

I recently read that 30-year-old tree surgeon, Shaun Tookey, from Hertford, Herts, made £30,000 in just 8 months working weekends cleaning headstones and graves.

He realised that people wanted and needed to keep the graves of their loved ones looking good for when they visited, but with life being hectic many of them couldn’t find the time to do it themselves.

Shaun had the idea of offering grave maintenance as a service and once he had raised the money to buy the tools needed, he set himself up as a dedicated grave and headstone cleaner, and posted his service online.

Shaun charges between £350 and £450 per grave. It’s a job that does not need doing regularly, maybe once or twice a year.

People are willing to pay the price.

It takes just two hours to clean a grave, and Shaun does it at the weekend.

He told a journalist that it was “a peaceful and satisfying job”.

I don’t know if Shaun plans to stop working as a tree surgeon and focus on this full time, but as it stands now, it is a brilliant side business that is incredibly profitable.

£30,000 in just 8 months for work that takes around two hours a piece is really good going.

This is a perfect example of catering to a specific need.

People may not always realise that they need a specific service until it is offered, but the need is there bubbling away below the surface.

It was while cutting back trees in a graveyard, Shaun realised the need for a grave cleaner.

Some people visit graves regularly and they want them to look perfect. They need to be looked after; it’s just that most people do not have the time or tools to do it.

And in stepped Shaun offering his grave maintenance and cleaning service.

He is cleaning up… literally.

Sometimes you just need to stop and look around you to see if there is something that you can offer busy people.

You may be surprised to find that the easiest and quickest jobs could be the most profitable.

The Secret To Building A Big Audience? Make ‘Em Laugh

I’m sure you’ve heard it many times before; the money is in the list.

It is also in the following.

It can also be found in your status… or the perceived status people have of you.

When you have a large number of followers or people on an email list that like what you do, you are in the fantastic position to make money with ease.

I can’t say how much you will make due to their being far too many variables which are different from person to person.

But I can tell you that making money is easier when you have a large following of fans.

Today I want to tell you about Mike and Joelle, a young married couple from Auckland, New Zealand.

Mike is a personal trainer and Joelle shares tips and advice about health, wellness and exercise in an email.

What I’m interested in is the fact that they have grown millions of fans and followers by sharing simple videos of Joelle’s reaction to jokes.

Mike plays audio clips from stand-up comedians and with his phone he films Joelle as she listens to the jokes and then either laughs or groans.

They have 1.4 million followers on Facebook and 1.1 million on Instagram. I’m pretty sure there will be a crossover in that figure with people following them on both platforms.

Imagine if there was a way to make just £1 from each of their followers!

The point I want to make here is that they have grown a large following by doing something so incredibly simple as sharing easy-to-create videos of themselves reacting to jokes.

It might be wrong for me to say this but I’m sure it helps that Joelle is young, attractive and is often wearing tight exercise clothing… putting that aside, the fact remains that what they do is so simple, anyone can do it.

I imagine that many others – including older people – could do this and grow a decent amount of followers.

The key here is that they do it daily without fail.

They post videos and pictures to their social media profiles every day, and they reply to people who comment.

They have built up a following of people who ‘like’ them and like what they share.

I cannot say how much money they earn from this following or could earn from this following, but I can tell you that if they were to start running online exercise courses (they do something similar, more on that shortly), or promote health related products in Joelle’s emails some of their following would buy from them.

It is common nature to buy products that are recommended or suggested by people who you Like, Know, and Trust.

It is what I call the LKT Factor.

From what I can see, Mike and Joelle run an online program where they create a personalised health plan for clients including exercise routines and meal plans.

I don’t know much more than that other than they charge NZD $492 (£238.52 ATOW) per year, or NZD $77 (£37.33 ATOW) per month.

They are currently running a 50% discount on their services.

I am sure that they have a few people taking them up on that offer. They only need 421 people throughout the year to make a nice six figure income.

Finding 421 out of over 1 million followers should not be too difficult.

What I like about this is that instead of adding to the flood of serious exercise and eating tips videos on social media, they have gone with a simple approach of making people laugh.

It makes them stand out and has helped them grow a large following of people with ease.

It’s not a targeted audience; a lot of their followers may not want to pay for exercise and diet plans, but those that would happily pay for that kind of service also like to have a laugh and so there will no doubt be plenty of them following Mike and Joelle.

Laughing at something funny is one of the few things that all humans have in common. Yes, people find different things funny, but we all love to laugh at something.

Sharing funny videos is a great way to grow a following, especially if you do it in a unique way like Mike and Joelle do.

It is something to think about, just please be aware that if you do try it, there will be a lot of people who are only following for the ‘funnies’, they won’t be interested in whatever services or products you plan to offer.

But just like normal life, when you meet someone new and regularly bump into them in social circles, you will eventually ask them what they do, and if you are interested in what service they provide you may take them up on it, if you aren’t, you won’t.

This is what is happening here.

People are following them for their funny videos and then later down the line they find out that they offer a personalised training and healthy eating plan and those who are interested in that will no doubt consider them over other people offering the same services.

A good example of this in action is when Andi, our techy guy currently living in Portugal, was introduced to another British guy, Joel, living in the area.

After bumping into him a few times and talking to him and following him on Instagram, Andi found out that Joel gave shiatsu massages – something he used to have every now and again when he was younger – he booked himself in to have one as a birthday treat.

At the time, he wasn’t looking for someone who did them, but after meeting with Joel several times and realising what he did, he went and had one.

Ask yourself this, with over 1 million people following Mike and Joelle on social media platforms who are effectively getting to know them, do you think that there will be people who will be interested in their services?

I do.

So, yes, this could be a great way to find a lot of people to sell services and products to.

It might be something to consider when doubling your way to £1.6 million.

You could maybe use this kind of video sharing to grow an audience to sell products and services to that could take you from £100 to £1.6 million.

There is a plan which will take you to over £1 million if you follow it carefully.

It requires you to start with just £100 and then double that initial investment 14 times until you hit £1.6 million target… you can stop before that if you hit an amount of money you are happy with!

Several multi-millionaires have been created with this plan. Two of them, Stuart Goldsmith and Barry Tyler, decided to put everything they did and learned into this programme:

Double Your Way To A Million

As with everything in life, if you do not have a plan that you can follow, it’s highly likely that you will fail.

I imagine that Mike and Joelle created a plan to dominate social media. They figures out what they needed to do, how to do it, and when. Once they had their plan, they followed it to the letter.

That is what Stuart and Barry have done when they put together the Double Your Way To A Million programme.

They have included a detailed step-by-step plan that will take you to your goal of becoming a millionaire.

Go take a look.

Kind regards

John Harrison

PS… The price of this works out at just 26p a day for a whole year. That’s more than a third of the price of the weekday edition of the Sun newspaper… and the information is a lot more useful and factual too.

If They Can Do It… So Can You!

I recently shared with you a report exclusively for Streetwise customers only about a person making over $10,000 per month selling expensive coaching programs.

Today, I want to point out that as part of our research, we found several people making several thousand pounds each month with this business model… and they are doing it using English, which is not their mother tongue.

Alan is from the Czech Republic, now living in Paris with his French wife, and Kat is a single mother of two from Slovenia.

There are others but I want to focus only on these two today.

Alan speaks brilliant English, Kat is good but her strong Slovenian accent can make it hard for her to be understood at times.

However… the two of them are making a stack of money using a second language.

I know that millions of people speak a second language with many of them speaking it as good as, if not better than, many native speakers, but I do find it impressive that these people are banking a lot of money while many native English speakers moan that they cannot make a penny online.

Why are native English speakers failing to make money when non-native English speakers are doing very well?

scroll down to carry on reading

A lot of it has to do with a combination of mindset and personality.

Alan has a very positive ‘I can do this’ mindset. He met his wife while working as a waiter on a cruise ship in the ‘90s and he moved to Paris to be with her.

This meant that he had to learn French. Alan speaks at least three languages.

He ran a couple of successful restaurants in Paris but thanks to rising expenses, terrorist attacks, the covid pandemic and lockdowns, he decided to sell them and so he turned to working online instead.

Kat story is pretty similar because she worked in her family’s restaurant which was also forced to close due to the covid pandemic.

Her marriage also broke down and she found herself as an unemployed single mother looking after two children. She too turned to running an online business.

Maybe desperation was a major factor here, Kat had little in the way of savings and had no income, but I believe Alan was financially stable, or at least OK, after selling his restaurants.

Both of them had no income and they had two children to pay for and so they had no option but to make something work… and they did.

Could this be the driving factor that made them succeed?

You could argue that it is the fact that they are selling expensive products with a high profit margin and a strong incentive for people to buy that has helped, but A LOT of people are doing the same and many of them don’t have the same success.

A lot of people quit early whereas the likes of Alan and Kat carry on until they succeed.

That determination could be the factor.

Every day they ‘turn up’ and do the work that is required.

As the saying goes… they keep on keeping on.

Whatever it is that you decide to do… you must keep on keeping on.

I’m not saying that you should carry on flogging a dead horse, but a lot or people stop way before the horse is dead. In a lot of cases, the horse is still standing and not even feeling slightly aggrieved.

I imagine that most people who fail at something don’t fail because the method or system doesn’t work, they fail because they didn’t give it the attention or time it needed.

And that is why people like Alan and Kat are successful. They turn up each day and do what they need to do until success appears.

It may be slightly more difficult for them having to do it all in a language that is not their mother tongue, but they don’t let it stop them. They just keep on keeping on.

So, I ask you…

Are you going to keep on keeping on until you are successful?

Or are you going to quit at the first opportunity?

Kind regards

John Harrison

Are You Scared? You Should Be!

Using fear as a way to sell products and services has been used for many years. It is also frowned upon if it is used in a negative and fraudulent way.

A prime example of this would be an email Andi, our techy guy, received last week regarding a website of his.

The email said something along the lines that one of his websites had a number of harmful and toxic links pointing at it which would harm its chances of ranking high in the search engines.

Surprisingly, the email was from a guy selling SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) services which promised to ‘remove’ the links and improve its SEO allowing the website to be lifted up higher in the search results.

SEO doesn’t happen overnight and it can often require ongoing work for a few months. People charge quite a lot for SEO services.

Andi simply dismissed the email because he did a quick check on the website and also had a good friend who is an SEO specialist to double check it and it was given a good clean bill of health.

The email was written in a way to scare ‘non techy’ people into panic buying their SEO services.

The person who sent the email is banking on the fact that most website owners know very little about SEO other than that they need their website to rank on the first page of the search results – or at least believe they do.

He is expecting many of them to panic and then request help to ‘solve the problem’ they now believe they are facing… a problem that didn’t actually exist.

It’s a bit devious.

Fear is a huge motivator for action; you only have to see how political parties and politicians use it to get voters to vote for them.

They are forever telling their ‘target audience’ that some bogeyman is coming to steal their homes, jobs, money, or even family members.

Those bogeymen are immigrants, foreigners, people of a different religion, or people of a different political persuasion.

As with the email informing Andi that a website had harmful toxic links pointing to it, the ‘facts’ about these alleged bogeymen have little or no actual factual substance to them.

Not all fear marketing is bad, though, there is sometimes a grain of truth in what is said and it can make you aware of things that are happening or could happen in the future if you are not paying much attention to what is happening in the world around you.

For example: the retirement age is about to be raised to 67 and could soon be set at 68. It used to be 60 for women and 65 for men.

The state pension age for both men and women is due to rise to 68 between 2044 and 2046 for anyone born on or after 5 April 1977.

However…

It could be reviewed and brought forward after the next general election which is due soon.

That means that a large amount of the UK population could soon be working longer into their old age and will not get their state pension when they thought they would.

There are a lot of rumours flying around that the state pension could one day be scrapped and that there isn’t enough money in the pot to pay for people as it is, let alone pay for the younger generation.

Much of this is just rumours and guesswork at this stage… but it is currently being talked about, and it could possibly happen. So yes, there is something to be concerned about when I say…

Do you want to run the risk of having to work longer into old age?

And do you want to risk relying on just the state pension to look after you when you get older?

What would you do if one day it was declared that the pot was empty – like Birmingham City Council – and told that you would need to make other arrangements to pay for your living costs?

It may not happen, but do you really want to take that risk?

I don’t know when you are expected to retire, but do you want to be in the position where you are forced to work several years longer?

Do you want to be reliant on a government that could change parties and political ideologies numerous times between now and when you need to retire?

Even if the same political party was to stay in power for the next 30 years, the politicians change and the political priorities will change. It will only be the same party by name.

Former prime minister and passionate diehard Conservative, John Major, has said several times that the Conservative party of today is a completely different one to the one he led all those years ago.

Even he’s not a fan of the current Conservative party… and he is as Conservative as it gets.

So, the idea that you should rely on the state pension to fund your retirement is foolish when you consider how much the ‘state’ and government changes over the years.

To have this idea that the state pension is going to be the one and only constant in life is quite dangerous.

Everyone… and I do mean everyone, should have a second or third form of income, or a large pot of savings to help fund their retirement.

They need something that they control and is not controlled by the constantly changing government.

Parliament and Downing Street do not need gates, they need revolving doors. They’ll let anyone in. You have no idea who’ll be making decisions on your pension next week!

The only person you can trust to control your retirement fund and pension is you.

Certainly not the multi-millionaires and billionaires giving their friends and family tax breaks while forcing you to work longer into old age.

Am I using fear based marketing here or am I just voicing a real concern?

I’d say that I am using the latter. The fear is real and about something that people should be aware of and think carefully about.

There are many ways to fund a retirement, but one of the best is where you create something that can generate a large return for little effort.

Creating information products and writing sales letters to sell those products are two of the best ways to make money.

I say two; they go hand-in-hand.

A simple sales letter can take just a few hours to write, yet it could generate thousands of pounds in sales.

That is money that you created and control.

Thanks to the internet, publishing both information products and their accompanying sales letters has become so easy… even a technophobe with little techy skills can do it.

Write your sales letter in MS Word or Google docs, copy and paste it into a page on a website when it’s finished, then add a payment button to your page.

Once your page is live online you send people to it.

It’s a lot easier than you may think.

No longer do you need to send a sales letter through the post, today you write it, post it online, send people to look at it, and then start on another.

This is the ultimate work-from-anywhere method of making money online.

Question: Would You Spend £73,000 Buying A Business Already Passively Earning £2,482 Each Month?

I often get emails informing what new websites have been put up for sale on one of the popular website selling platforms.

One website that was put up for sale was Hey Keto Mama.

As the name suggests, this website focuses on the Keto niche sharing keto diet tips and recipes.

It was listed at $97,000 (£77,000 ATOW) but has been reduced a little to around $92,000 (£73,000 ATOW).

The important information about the website:

  • It is 8 years old.
  • It has a domain authority of 46.
  • It has 148 articles published.
  • Gets 52,052 monthly visitors (Mostly from the US, followed by Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand).
  • It’s earning around $3,129 (£2,482 ATOW) per month.
  • Monetisation methods are Mediavine (shoing adverts) and Amazon (affiliate products).
  • It also comes with an email list of 11,000 subscribers.
  • It has 121,000 followers on Pinterest.
  • It has 23,000 followers on Facebook.
  • It has 1,000 subscribers on YouTube.
  • The Hey Keto Mama is trademarked and is included in the sale.

This isn’t just a website; it is an established online business.

This website was originally valued at 31 times the monthly income, meaning that whoever buys it will earn their investment money back within 3 years at the current income rate.

The website could make more than what it is now because as it currently stands, there are 529 missing affiliate links and 18 out-of-stock items meaning that whoever purchases this website could replace them with new affiliate products.

With over 52,000 monthly visitors, an email list of 11,000 subscribers and tens of thousands more on the social media platforms, this website could be a little goldmine.

Studies show that a decent and responsive email list should be worth between £0.50 and £1 per person per month, so an email list of 11,000 should generate at least £5,500 per month.

But as I say, that does depend on the quality of the email list and how responsive it is.

The money is made from showing adverts on the website and promoting products for sale on Amazon.

I don’t know if they have ever created their own Keto diet products but if they haven’t, there is a lot of scope here to create eBooks, courses, and run challenges around the Keto diet… and potentially around fasting, too.

They could also possible create a monthly subscription membership which would bring in additional income.

People who are interested in the Keto diet, may also be interested in other food and nutrition related products.

I feel that this website should be making more money than it currently is.

I’m wondering if the owner got bored with it or was just happy to bank a monthly passive income that it generated and do other stuff.

It’s highly likely that this person builds websites to sell and could be working on more like this one.

Now, this could be a fantastic purchase for the right person.

The only concern would be that the income figure has dropped, it used to earn a lot more than the $3,129 it is currently earning, but that drop could be due to the missing 500+ affiliate links not being updated or changed.

It’s also going to be a decent pay day for the person who is selling the website.

There is a lot of money to be made building and selling websites. Many of the people listing websites for sale are making six figures a year just by building and selling websites.

And it doesn’t need to take 8 years to build a website that can be sold for a decent amount of money either.

There are people who are building websites in as little as a few days and selling them for several hundred pounds each… sometimes more.

Using a website builder called WordPress, a person can throw up a basic website in as little as a few minutes.

Sell a handful of those each month and you are making a rather decent amount of money.

I think one day soon I am going to create a more detailed report about this as I see a lot of potential in this as a business model and a way to make money.

Yes, there is a certain degree of work involved and you will need to learn some new skills, but not as much as you may think.

However… if building and selling websites to make money is not for you, then maybe you would prefer The Z15 Easy Profit System.

This Couple Were Devastated When They Realised THEY Were The Reason They Were Failing!

I was staggered to learn that a couple with young children were spending around £300 a WEEK on takeaway food.

This is while they were living with the husband’s mother so that they could save money for a deposit to buy their own house.

This was revealed on a television show where the popular television presenter and author, Michael Mosley, helped people to develop better eating habits and reverse any health issues bad eating was causing them.

I can’t remember how many years they had been living with the husband’s mother, but I believe it was a few, and according to the mother, the takeaway binging was a regular thing.

Their £300 a week takeaway habit was costing them £15,600 a year… possibly more.

What struck me was the look on the faces of the couple when they realised that they could have had the deposit for a house one or two years ago had they not been wasting it on takeaway food.

They had no idea as to how much money they were spending on takeaways. They were just ordering and eating it whenever they were hungry.

If I remember correctly, there were tears at the realisation that their junk food habit was the reason they hadn’t got a deposit for a house of their own. It’s easy to understand why.

They had become so accustomed and comfortable living with the husband’s mother and eating a tonne of takeaway food, that it far outweighed the mental discomfort of not having their own home.

They might have wanted their own place… but they clearly didn’t want it enough.

They were obviously quite settled to the point that they were not actively focusing on saving money, or on their future.

Their want and need for a home of their own took a backseat and became a mere wish.

Wishing is weak; it is a very poor motivator of action.

I don’t know how much money they needed for a deposit, but if they spent £300 on takeaway food each week – which it appears that they did – and they did that for two years, they have wasted £31,200 which is a HUGE amount of cash.

It would certainly go a long way towards a deposit.

In the right hands, £31,200 would be life changing… in fact it was, it was causing them a lot of unwanted health issues and holding them back.

I hate to keep saying it – but unfortunately it needs saying – a lot of people waste money on things that are considered as part of ‘daily living’, then they complain that they do not have any money spare that could be used to change their circumstances.

Only today, before starting to write this, I read an article by a woman who was sharing the questions and answer she’d regularly get from people regarding a £2,500 coaching program she was selling.

When people asked how much was needed to invest in the program, over 90% of them would say that either it was too pricey, or they couldn’t afford it.

Her answer to those people was that they could either spend the money investing in their future, or they could keep the money and stay where they are for the foreseeable.

Just like the couple who were living with the husband’s mother, unable to move on because they were not actively focusing on their future, people who think something is too pricey will not see their lives change.

Buying a product is not just ‘buying a product’; it is investing in yourself and making changes to your future.

The woman who wrote the article, she too ‘couldn’t afford to get started’ when she got started.

She nervously dipped into her remaining savings, unsure as to whether she would succeed or not, and spent over £2,500 to learn something which made her £30,000 back in the first six months, and then grew to become a six-figure-a-year business.

Yes, there is a fine line between taking unnecessary risks where you foolishly throw money away and investing in a product or program which will deliver a greater return on your investment.

Knowing one from the other is not particularly easy.

The point is that people do genuinely believe that they cannot afford to do something that could be life changing, yet they waste a small fortune on stuff that does nothing but keep them down, as was the case with the couple trying to save for a deposit for a house.

They could have been living in their new family home by now had they not been constantly gorging themselves on burgers, chips. pizzas, and kebabs.

To change your life or circumstances, you need to take positive action.

You need to be aware of what you are doing each and every day.

Having a good understanding of your habits and knowing what you spend your time and money on most days is powerful.

It is freeing, and it is life changing.

Knowledge Is Power!

Some knowledge you can gain from taking time out to study yourself, ask yourself questions to learn more about what it is that you really want and what is preventing you from getting it.

Other times you need to pay to acquire specific information that can make you move forward in life.

It is a balance of the two.

However, knowledge alone will not change your life. Knowledge may be powerful, but without action, is nothing more than knowing a collection of facts and figures.

Universities, schools, and colleges are full of people who ‘know’ a lot of stuff, but they may not be successful because they never implemented that knowledge in a way that could change their lives beyond sharing that knowledge with others.

Knowledge And Action…

Now That Is Powerful!

It’s OK knowing how to take £100 and double it up to £1.6 million, but without actually taking £100 and getting started… you will not become a millionaire.
