In previous articles I’ve mentioned a website that shares information regarding holidaying and visiting Portugal.
I’ve noticed lately that they have begun publishing a series of eBooks and digital guides.
I have it on good authority that over the weekend of them first publishing these guides, they sold around 285 copies.
Once they had the guides up online in their shop, an email was sent to their email list (I don’t know how many people they have on their email list) promoting those new guides.
At around £8 per guide, selling 285 copies means that they made roughly £2,280 over that one weekend.
With the guides being digital downloads there shouldn’t be any other costs other than hosting.
There may be some costs associated to having the shop added to the website if they didn’t do it themselves.
Also there was a certain amount of work involved creating the guides.
They may have been written from scratch, or they could have been created by adding a series of pre-written articles together then editing them into one guide.
It wasn’t simply a case of just sending out an email and making £2,280 in sales… however, it could have been if the products promoted were affiliate products.
At the time the email was sent it was a simple case of writing and sending an email because everything was ready online… and now that email can be sent again many times over.
The point I want to really make is that they sent an email out to the people on their list and made 285 sales earning them somewhere around £2,280.
That’s not too bad, is it?
Those eBooks and guides can be bought at anytime by people visiting the website. There could be hundreds… possibly thousands… more sales over the coming years making them a lot more money.
It’s not hard to do really.
There are far harder ways to make £2,280… and most of them will take longer than it takes to create and publish a digital product, and write and send an email.

The profit margins for those sales can be huge.
It’s been reported that for physical retail items, the average profit margins are between 0.5% and 3.5%.
If it costs a £1 to make and deliver an eBook that you sell for £8, you are making a whopping 700% profit!
Now imagine how much you are making when you are selling a product at £29 or more.
I know that it’s possible for anyone to create a digital product, upload it to a website, add a simple ‘Buy Now’ button, and start promoting it online for free. I’ve seen it being done time and time again.
The actual cost to selling eBooks can be incredibly low when you do a lot of the ‘easy’ work yourself.
The thing about eBooks and digital products is that they can be bought at any time of the day and night giving you a passive income.
You can easily create and publish your own digital product within 30 days and have a passive income asset online for many years.
There is no limit to how many digital products you can publish.
Sometimes you only need to publish one to make a decent amount of money.

PS… We are currently putting the final touches to a new product that I believe will sell really well and generate at least £30,000 in profit over time.
It may be more, it may be a little less, but I’m sure it will do well… and it has taken the author less than a week to put together.
Just one week’s work could easily make £30,000 or more.
