If you were selling burgers and chips from a van, would you make much money if you were parked up in a lay-by on a quiet country road?
The answer is no.
You’ll make some money but it won’t be a lot due to the lack of people using the road.
Out of the small amount of people who do use the road, only a few of them will be hungry and an even smaller amount of people will want to eat what you are selling.
If you stay parked up in that same spot long enough then yes, you will make some money … but it won’t be a lot.
However…
If you were to park up in a lay-by on a main road leading into a city, it is likely that you will make more money in one morning than if you spent weeks, possibly months, in the country road lay-by.
I know what you are thinking, ‘John, that is obvious, the more people there are, the more money you can make.’
And that’s the point…
When there are a lot of people, there is a greater chance of making money.
That is as long as they are the right people.
Trying to sell meat burgers to vegans will not make you any money, but sell them burgers made from a variety of ingredients such as chickpeas, lentils, peas, carrots, potatoes and mushrooms, and you will be onto a winner.
So we have established that to increase your chances of making money you need a large number of people and they need to be the ‘right’ people.
For you to personally make money you need to amass a large number of the right people…and that is something which you can easily do today… more on that shortly.
The best way to find the right people is to ‘qualify’ them by offering something which some people will want and others won’t.
Those who want it will take it, and those who don’t won’t.
By doing this, you filter out the wrong people and will be left with a group of the right people.

For example; food companies set up stands in supermarkets and offer small tasters of their new product, those who like that particular food or the ingredients it is made of will try it, and those who don’t won’t.
Vegans, vegetarians, gluten and lactose intolerant people will not try a new bacon and cheese wrap, but those who do eat bacon, cheese and bread will happily try the new product.
The product itself has filtered the wrong people out leaving only the right people who will make the best customers.
When it comes to making money online, the product you offer is known as a ‘lead magnet’ and is often given away for free in exchange for an email address.
The reason for that is to build a large email list… and the reason for having a large email list is?
To make money!
An email list is a large number of the right people that you can sell relevant products to.
Just as food companies hand out small tasters of their new products in busy supermarkets where their ideal customers will be found, you go to where there are a lot of people and you offer something which a specific group of them will want.
Those who want it will take it, and those who don’t won’t.
It’s as simple as that.
The product which is given away for free does not need to be anything grand and outstanding as you will see in a video I am going to share with you shortly.
People often think that they cannot create anything that is worth giving away and using as a lead magnet to grow an email list… this video will show that this is simply not true.
I asked our techy guy, Andi, to record a short video showing a real life example of someone building a profitable email list using a simple system that anyone can use.
As you know, to build my email list I give away a digital version of my popular book which has 192 pages, but in the video you will see an example where one person gives away a book that has only four pages.
That’s right…
Four pages!
People were signing up to his email list to get a copy of his lead magnet which has roughly two hundred more words than this email.
Basically putting it, this email could become a lead magnet!
Ideally you would give more but as you will see in the video, a simple PDF with only four pages of content can be enough to build an email list.

PS… It’s not the length of the ‘free giveaway’ that is important; it is the quality and usefulness of the information.
If you can deliver quality and useful information in a few short pages then you don’t need to go overboard and create anything too big… besides, sometimes if a free giveaway is too long it won’t get read… and that’s no good for anyone.
