If you haven’t seen the film Castles in the Sky starring Eddie Izzard, I recommend you do.
It tells the remarkable story of the rush to invent radar during the days leading up to the Second World War.
After being asked by the Ministry of Defence his opinions on whether a death ray using radio was possible – he determined it wasn’t – Scottish radio physicist Robert Alexander Watson-Watt suggested that radio signals could be used to detect aircraft at long distances.
After making the suggestion Watson-Watt and his assistant Arnold Frederic ‘Skip’ Wilkins were asked by the Ministry of Defence to build a team of scientists and work on developing the system which could help protect Britain from the German Luftwaffe.
Information had reached the Ministry of Defence that Germany was preparing for war and possibly planning an attack on Britain. Intelligence photos showed that Germany was busy building a large fleet of bombers and fast fighter planes.
The German Luftwaffe’s fleet outnumbered the RAF 3 to 1.
Britain was busy building new Spitfires and Hurricanes as fast as it could but due to the urgency of the situation, they needed something which would give the RAF the upper hand should Germany launch an attack.
Having a huge fleet of planes is meaningless if they are not in the air at the time of enemy attack.
Bombers travelling at 200 miles per hour could quite easily reach airfields without warning, drop their bombs and simply wipe out the RAF squadrons while they were sat waiting for the call.
Britain needed something which could detect the enemy before they reached British shores and give the RAF time to scramble their planes ready to meet the incoming Nazi fleet in the air.
Watson-Watt and his team of scientists worked around the clock to develop the protective ‘castle in the sky’ which became known as Chain Home.
It went into operation in 1938 and was instrumental in winning the war above England.

Before the war as part of his work at the Met Office Watson-Watt had already developed HFDF affectionately known as ‘huff-duff’ to accurately track down thunderstorms using radio signals.
Huff-duff was also used during World War II to track down enemy U-boats. It is believed that a quarter of the attacks on enemy U-boats used the huff-duff system.
Sir Robert Watson-Watt was given a knighthood in 1942 for his work and he was also awarded the US Medal for Merit in 1946 after going over to the US in 1941 to advise them on air defence after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
The technology that Watson-Watt and his team developed paved the way for further advancements like the microwave oven.
Using Signals
Similar to how radar and huff-duff look out for specific signals and listen for the ‘pings’ to tell you that something is there for the taking, automated sports trading bots find football games to trade by looking for ‘signals’.
Automated sports trading bots connect to specific accounts and services and once programmed to do a specific task, they go trawling the global markets to find the right conditions and then place a trade on your behalf.
These trades then make money.
These bots work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and instantly fire trades into the market as per your pre-programmed instructions.
Just imagine whilst you are tucked up in bed, watching television or enjoying a pint in the pub, your bot can be trading for you!
Your bot is programmed with instructions which effectively say ‘Look for this specific set of circumstances. When you find it, place a trade. Now wait for ‘x’ to happen and when it does, take the money and run!’
My good friend Paul Bent makes money each and every month using bots… it’s what he does and it’s what he knows.
He has kindly offered to share with you the system he uses to make £1,500+ each month using bots.
What’s more… he has agreed to offer this system at a heavily discounted price to the one previously advertised.
